New collaborations for Biomarker Engineering and Analytics group
The Pharmacometrics group and the Biomarker Engineering and Analytics (BEA) group started collaborating more closely in 2023. BEA focuses on developing and validating new measurement methods and now also hosts a new Research Equipment Lifecycle Management initiative.
'At BEA, we have always worked with data in different ways,' says Dr Robert Jan Doll, Associate Director Biomarker Engineering and Analytics. 'That’s why it is only natural for us to collaborate more closely with our colleagues in Pharmacometrics. We all share an affinity with technology and data, and we like to learn from each other.'
The Pharmacometrics group uses modelling and simulation-based approaches to analyse and report study data related to pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD). As the developed models provide quantitative insights in both efficacy and safety of novel compounds, these can be used for informed decision-making for trial design. The Pharmacometrics group is rapidly expanding. The newest member, Senior Pharmacometrician Dr Linda Aulin, was trained in several leading pharmacometric hubs in Europe. Thanks to her and her new colleagues, the group can now offer various additional services to CHDR’s clients, including PK/PD model development and clinical trial simulations.
Research Equipment Lifecycle Management
In 2023, CHDR initiated a Research Equipment Lifecycle Management (RELM). ‘In a growing organisation, a centralised approach is required to ensure that all research equipment is carefully managed, calibrated, and sent for maintenance or replacement when necessary,’ says Doll. Peter Nacken joined the team to set up the new Research Equipment Lifecycle Management (RELM). ‘Peter previously worked in CHDR’s method execution team as a Clinical Technician and has a good understanding of most research equipment and facilities,' Doll explains.
